Armando Christian Pérez, better known by his stage name Pitbull, or his other nicknames, Lil' Chico or Mr. 305, is an American rapper. His first recorded performance was from the Lil Jon album Kings of Crunk in 2002, after which he released his debut album in 2004 titled M.I.A.M.I. (short for Money Is A Major Issue) under TVT Records.
Since then, he has released two other albums under the label, El Mariel in 2006 and The Boatlift in 2007. He is also the host of his own Spanish-language program on the cable channel Mun2 titled La Esquina (Spanish for The Corner) and has enjoyed worldwide successs with his hit "Culo".

DADDY YANKEE TO DROP NEW ALBUM, EL CARTEL 3: THE BIG BOSS
Daddy Yankee's first studio album since 2004's groundbreaking Barrio Fino promises to pour more gasolina on the fire that is reggaeton. The Cartel: The Big Boss (El Cartel/Interscope), continues to expand reggaeton's power and reach by featuring such diverse guest artists as Fergie, Jim Jones, Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls, Akon, and Will.i.am from Black Eyed Peas
Both Akon and Will.i.am also produce, as do Mr. ColliPark and Scott Storch (the latter producing the first single, "Impacto") along with Reggaeton producers Eli "El Musicologo", Tiny Tunes, Diesel and Menace.
For Daddy Yankee, The Cartel: The Big Boss marks the next step in a phenomenal career that has taken him from the barrios outside San Juan, Puerto Rico, to being named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world by Time magazine. "Reggaeton needs a change and I'm changing too," says Daddy Yankee. "You can't rest on the past. This album is very different. My roots are still there but now there's more, a side of me people haven't seen, including hip-hop. And I know the power music has too. I'm a leader in Latin culture. The album talks about the role we're playing in society. For people that don't know what's happening, we need to let them know what's going on."
In 2006, the live CD/DVD set Barrio Fino en Directo was the biggest selling Latin album of the year according to Billboard, was named Reggaeton Album of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. Daddy Yankee was also named Artist of the Year at the Latin Billboard Awards and MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamerica, Latin Songwriter of the Year by ASCAP and Urban Artist of the Year at Univision's Premios Lo Nuestro Awards. With his rapid-fire freestyle flow and clever lyrics, Daddy Yankee helped pioneer the sound of reggaeton. In 2004, "Gasolina" from the studio Barrio Fino became the urban music anthem that put reggaeton on the music map and made DY its first platinum-certified star.
Daddy Yankee's influence within the genre is matched by his entrepreneurial vision. Besides being founder and CEO of his own record label and management company, he is one of Pepsi's Hispanic spokespersons and for sportswear powerhouse Reebok has created "Daddy Yankee by Rbk," a footwear, clothing and accessory line available in stores nationwide. Talento de Barrio, his first film, as actor and executive producer, is slated for a U.S. release later this year. DON OMAR AND HAKEEM JOIN FORCES
After Don Omar's hugely successful Reggaeton concert in Cairo with Egyptian singer Hakeem, the two decide to team up on a track released on Hakeem's latest album.
After moments of tension due to a mechanical failure on a plane, he arrived in Egypt. After experiencing fear last week caused by a mechanical failure during a flight, the popular reggaeton artist Don Omar performed in Egypt alongside Hakeem to great success. They will record a duet together called “Tuigui”. This song will be included in Hakeem’s upcoming album called León de Egipto. The recording of this song marks the beginning of another phase in Don Omar’s soaring career and he thus becomes the first artist of this genre to sing alongside the Egyptian star.
The song’s video was shot yesterday in the Pyramids of Egypt. Don Omar got a reception fit for a diplomat at Cairo’s international airport on April 11. Surrounded by a score of interviewers and hundreds of fans, the singer of “Dale, don, dale” managed to leave the airport by an alternative route.
The following day, the artist gave a press conference alongside Hakeen, during which both expressed their mutual admiration and discussed their new project. Tuigui, written by the two artists, was produced by Eliel Lind and carries a strong message against racial discrimination.

An important group of artists from the Sony BMG Latin record label were nominated to the Ninth Annual Latin Grammy Awards; the list was released today in a press conference by a group of artists and members of the Latin Recording Academy®, from the famous House of Blues in Sunset strip of Los Angeles. Kany García, the newest Puertorican star was one of the hosts of the presentation.
The brothers Victor & Leo were nominated in the best album of regional contemporary or Brazilian roots music category, for their album “Ao vivo em Uberlandia”
“The nominations continue to reflect a dynamic community of Latin music in the entire world of our established artists, presenting at the same time the new artists” said Gabriel Abaroa, president of the Latin Recording Academy®.
The Ceremony of the Latin Grammy Awards will be televised live November 13 on Univision (8:00 pm Eastern Time) from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The show will include the most important artists of the moment in Latin music and will be watched in 100 countries around the world.
The Ninth Annual Latin Grammy Awards will have 49 categories, including “Grabación del Año” (Record of the Year), “Canción del Año” (Song of the Year), “Álbum del Año” (Album of the Year), “Mejor Nuevo Artista” (Best New Artist). “With more than 5 thousand records submitted this year, it makes us proud to see how many music professionals are part of these awards” said Gabriel Abaroa, President of the Latin Academy of Recording.
